FANCY SPRINKLES® is a digital born, omni-channel business, disrupting categories across the grocery aisles - from baking chips, to mixers, to cake decorating. The company is the leading digital brand in the edible arts category, offering innovative products and solutions for hosts, makers, and bakers. As of Fall 2024, FANCY SPRINKLES® continues to expand its retail footprint in over 5,000 physical stores, including nation-wide availability, in multiple aisles, at both Walmart and Kroger!
Founded in 2016 by Lisa Osbourne (Lisa Stelly), FANCY SPRINKLES® sells products and kits to decorate food and beverages, including sprinkles, sugars, baking confetti, edible glitters, candy melts, and more. FANCY SPRINKLES® strives to unleash creative potential by fueling customers to express themselves through products to empower imagination, push boundaries and make the world a more decorated place. The company employs a highly diversified team of talented individuals who work remotely across the US.
In 2018, the company received its first institutional funding from Chicago-based investment management firm Sterling Partners. Lisa Stelly continues to inspire and lead the company in her role as Chief Creative Officer, focusing on developing new products and categories, and creating content for a wide array of channels through which the brand connects with an expanding customer base.
About the Role
FANCY SPRINKLES® is seeking a VP of Brand who is a collaborative visionary with an entrepreneurial mindset and strong leadership capabilities. The VP of Brand will set and lead all brand, marketing and product efforts, ranging from product strategy and execution, to 360 marketing strategy, and developing a brand story for the online and retail shopping experiences. The right person will naturally generate excitement and amplify the brand’s scalability in order to expand our product offerings and channel reach.
The ideal candidate is equally strategic and process-oriented, able to develop go-to-market plans and manage the cross-functional collaboration and execution across stakeholders. Leading with consumer-centric thinking and innovative brand building, this person is an expert across digital and in-store activation and sell-thru strategies. With a high bar for quality and an unsurpassed attention to detail, this person should excel in creating an integrated and consumer-centric marketing strategy that will be activated across all branded touchpoints scanning product, PR, social media, and retail experiences both on and off-line.
Reporting directly to the CEO, the VP of Brand must be an inspirational culture carrier who prioritizes mentorship and accountability to drive results with a sense of urgency. Building strong relationships and gaining buy-in at all levels, internally and externally, will be critical to this person’s success. In addition, the VP of Brand is a key part of the management team, helping to shape the organization, and its culture, to meet both today’s needs and our ambitions for the future.
What You’d Be Responsible For
- Set and define a modern, creative, data-driven Product and Brand strategy that supports key business objectives and drives omni-channel brand engagement and sales.
- Lead the team responsible for go-to-market strategies, marketing campaigns, in-store activations, brand storytelling and communications, PR, social media, influencer, partnerships, community-building, and events.
- Create a productive and efficient organizational structure; grow and develop a healthy, collaborative, and engaged team that scales appropriately as the business grows.
- Partner closely with the CEO and Founder/Chief Creative Officer to define the role of each product and each product category, develop a product plan, and create compelling product narratives and storytelling that connect with consumers and inspire engagement with the brand, our mission, and its products.
- Grow an authentic community around FANCY SPRINKLES® and identify how to uniquely leverage community-marketing to differentiate the brand and unlock growth.
- Monitor all key business KPIs, ranging from selling channels (ecommerce, retail) and CRM data, to social media channels and more; develop and execute recommendations to optimize performance. Collaborate with leadership to refine our assortment and pricing strategies to drive the brand mission, maximize profitability, and enhance our value to consumers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to synchronize and synergize strategies that reach consumers at various touch points along the customer journey.
- Partner with our Sales team to develop and oversee the performance of our marketing programs with wholesale partners to drive brand awareness, traffic, and sales.
- Seamlessly interact with third party business partners, driving all marketing approvals efficiently and within deadline.
What You Can Bring
- 15 years of experience in the omni-channel, consumer-branded space, specifically developing, implementing, and executing brand activities that have scaled a digital-first brand into retail to $50M and beyond.
- Expertise in creating and driving impactful marketing strategies and effective ecommerce and in-store experiences.
- Demonstrated success leading innovative marketing campaigns and brand building strategies to achieve ambitious results.
- Deep multi-channel experience in creating and implementing marketing strategies across in-store, digital, retail media, and third-party ecommerce and retail channels.
- Extensive experience in overseeing product and partnering on innovation to drive effective product strategies.
- A highly collaborative team leader with a proven track record in effectively leading, managing, mentoring, motivating and inspiring others.
- Forward-thinking with a balance of analytical and creative thinking, with a deep understanding of social media platforms and storytelling
- Ability to set up efficient and effective processes and manage and meet deadlines.
- Experience managing small and large teams, and multi-million-dollar budgets.
- Low ego, high ambition, positive attitude.
- Strong communication skills – written, presentation, and interpersonal.
- A solution-oriented mindset with superior problem-solving skills focused on root causes.
