Job Purpose Summary:
Camille Rose makes high quality personal care products, infused with well-known food-grade natural and gourmet-inspired ingredients, at a premium price. The Brand is seeking an experienced in-house Creative Director to guide the brand's visual identity and take the creative output to a new level as we continue to grow. The ideal candidate will be a prolific generator of dynamic ideas that connects with all types of audiences. The role requires an understanding of the interests and needs of a broad textured hair community. The goal, overall, is to build awareness, engagement, and customer loyalty.
The Creative Director will drive compelling campaigns that resonate with our audience, elevate our brand presence, and provide consistency across all marketing materials, product packaging, and digital platforms, and retailer visual merchandising, ultimately contributing to our mission of empowering consumers with knowledge and high-quality personal care and home solutions.
- Collaborate with Leadership to develop and execute the overall creative strategy for Camille Rose, ensuring alignment with brand objectives and market trends.
- Uphold and evolve the Camille Rose brand identity, ensuring all creative work reflects our commitment to quality, transparency, and empowerment.
- Establish strong brand guidelines, and then enforce them to ensure visual consistency across all marketing materials, product packaging, and digital platforms.
- Create innovative brand campaigns and oversee the execution of creative assets to support all marketing functions including website, paid digital, visual merchandising and retail activations, print materials, social media, video, packaging and experiential marketing.
- Oversee and manage recruitment of freelance support staff, including a team of graphic designers, photographers, videographers, and copywriters.
- Prioritize work and resources across engagements, based on short- and long-term needs, and develop schedules by collaborating with designers, copywriters, and production artists.
- Conduct regular audits of brand visuals to ensure compliance with established guidelines.
- Develop KPIs and report on the success of all marketing campaigns.
- Research target markets and competitive brands and manage implementation of content adaptation that optimizes our platforms.
- Coordinate with Marketing and external agency teams to insure brand consistency.
- Stay ahead of industry trends and incorporate innovative ideas and technologies into the creative process.
- Guide the creation of event programming, content, and event communications.
- Liaise with the NPD department to stay updated on upcoming new product launches, continuing upgrades, and features.
- Collaborate with international creative leads to ensure consistent brand expression.
- Collaborate with Leadership to prepare an annual Creative budget, schedule expenditures, ensure activations meet budget and track variances.
Competency:
- Five or more years of creative direction experience. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience creatively directing complex solutions for digital assets.
- Ability to work with leadership to understand detailed requirements and determine a creative vision that matches the brief.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to clearly and effectively communicate the creative vision, concepts, ideas, and solutions to stakeholders and freelance creatives.
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting, including synthesizing abstract ideas into concrete design implications.
- Extensive experience building and managing a freelance creative team.
- A solid grasp of art and design history, photography and the visual arts, pop culture, and counterculture; fluency in current technology, politics, a deep understanding of the zeitgeist of social tastes and current affairs.
- Be excited about collaborating and communicating closely with leadership to regularly deliver design solutions for approval.
- Be open to receiving feedback and constructive criticism.
Required education and experience:
1. An undergraduate degree in graphic design, fine arts, visual communication or a related subject, or equivalent professional experience.
2. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and other relevant design software, Microsoft Office applications,
