What You'll Do

- Collaborates with your Global Engagement colleagues to creatively share the stories of our brand, customers, team members and products.
- Partners with other internal departments, community partners and third parties to develop projects, identify strategy and tactics, and manage the projects from concept through implementation
- Analyze social media performance, providing insightful reports and data-driven recommendations
- Develops and executes creative ways to be culturally relevant by engaging customers in conversation and growing loyalty to American's brand
- Operates video cameras, on location or in the studio, for social media production
- Edits video, motion graphics, GIFs and other visual media elements
- Travels as needed for on-location events and shoots
- Handles copywriting of social messaging for multiple social networks
- Manages multiple projects at once
- Makes recommendations around paid media strategies response and recommend
- Handles day-to-day with community management, including searching user generated content and monitoring other brands for trends and best practices
- Supports crisis communication activities including social media action plans for issues management
All you'll need for success
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, graphic design, digital media, or relevant field
- 3+ years of experience in social media management and knowledge of all social media channels including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, LinkedIn and YouTube, or relevant experience
- Expertise in social media analytics tools (Sprinklr, Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics)
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
- Master's degree in videography, graphic design, digital media, or relevant field
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
- Skills in Photography (iPhone, DSLR, lighting, framing), photo editing, color, retouching
- Skills in Videography and the ability to capture video using an iPhone or DSLR and use basic editing app
- Ability to make content scalable per social channel (16:9, 9:16, 4:5, short, long etc.)
- Ability to effectively manage time and schedules
- Interest and passion in creative thinking and the power of social media
- Knowledge of work ethic with the ability to turn projects quickly
- Knowledge of influencer programs and paid media strategies
- Knowledge in project management and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Strong presentation skills with ability to effectively communicate with all levels both verbally and written; excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with colleagues around the company
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, Outlook; knowledge of Spredfast and similar tools a plus
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Adobe premiere, photoshop, InDesign and Lightroom
- Experience with content creation apps such as Adobe Spark
