We are a small but rapidly growing business that makes the world’s first line of heated outdoor furniture. Founded in 2012, our designs are beloved by designers and customers alike. We have been featured in a variety of publications including Architectural Digest, The New York Times, Elle Decor, House Beautiful and Dwell. Our designs have won many awards including “Best Outdoor Furniture” at Dwell on Design and “Furniture Innovation” award at San Francisco Design Week. We have an expanding list of new retail partners including top brands like Williams Sonoma, Design Within Reach, and Terra Outdoor. Our offices are located in our South San Francisco facility which includes our customer showroom, made-to-order custom factory and warehouse.
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Sr/Director of Marketing to spearhead the development and execution of comprehensive marketing strategies aimed at boosting Galanter & Jones DTC, Trade, and Retail Store Sales. This role is perfect for a dynamic marketing professional with a robust background in retail marketing, omnichannel strategies, and B2B Trade business. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a startup mentality, adept at collaborating across teams, and delivering results in a fast-paced environment. This person would be part of our Leadership Team, reporting directly to the CEO, and would be responsible for building the Marketing function and team. This is an IN PERSON position.
Key Responsibilities
● Craft and implement marketing strategies to drive business growth, enhance market penetration, elevate brand awareness, and increase product adoption.
● Design and execute segmentation, targeting, and positioning strategies to unlock market potential.
● Manage G&J’s Marketing Calendar, including events, promotions, and product launches.
● Monitor and analyze marketing performance and CRM metrics, making data-driven adjustments to optimize effectiveness and ROI.
● Promote a proactive, solution-oriented culture within the team, encouraging collaboration and innovative problem-solving.
● Stay informed about competitive trends and market dynamics to guide strategic decision-making.
● Grow and develop marketing function as the company expands both external and internal resources.
● Work collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders to achieve marketing goals.
Qualifications
● At least 10 years of marketing experience, particularly in retail or consumer sales. ● Proven expertise in brand strategy, pricing, segmentation, targeting, and positioning. ● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with strong negotiation and compromise abilities.
● Experience in managing digital and print advertising campaigns.
● Previous managerial experience and demonstrated hiring
● Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google suite and marketing automation tools, particularly HubSpot.
● Detail-oriented with a focus on testing, measuring, and refining marketing tactics. ● Previous experience in a startup environment is highly desirable.

Pay range: $150k-$165k
The offered pay range is based on several factors, including, but not limited to, overall experience, relevant experience, education level, certifications and applicable skills and expertise.
