Sr Director, eCommerce Checkout
Role Overview
As the Senior Director of eCommerce - Checkout, you will be responsible for leading the vision, strategy, and execution of our checkout experience across all customer touchpoints, across all channels and platforms You will ensure a seamless, secure, and conversion and customer optimized checkout process that meets the needs of our global customer base.
This role will require strong leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to manage a global team focused on driving revenue through continuous improvements in the checkout funnel. You will also focus on balancing innovation with operational excellence to ensure that our checkout system is reliable, fast, and aligned with security standards.
This is a remote job based in the United States. We are only considering candidates currently based out of the United States and are not offering relocation.
About The Role
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive checkout strategy to drive revenue growth, improve conversion rates, and enhance user experience across web, mobile, and desktop platforms and across all GTM channels.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, engineering, marketing, analytics, and customer support teams to identify pain points, prioritize feature enhancements, and deliver improvements.
- Optimize Checkout Flow: Analyze and enhance the checkout funnel, reducing friction and drop-off points to ensure a smooth and efficient user journey.
- Security and Compliance: Ensure that checkout processes are fully compliant with global security, payment, and data privacy regulations, while integrating fraud prevention measures.
- A/B Testing & Experimentation: Lead experimentation initiatives to test and implement new features, payment methods, and layouts to maximize conversion and customer satisfaction.
- Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team. Foster a culture of customer-first thinking, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision-making.
- Vendor and Partner Relationships: Oversee relationships with payment providers, fraud detection services, and other third-party vendors critical to the checkout experience.
- KPI Monitoring: Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to checkout, including conversion rates, payment success rates, and fraud rates. Use insights to drive improvements.
About You
- 10+ years of experience in subscription eCommerce, with a focus on checkout, payments, and conversion rate optimization.
- Proven track record of driving revenue growth through checkout optimization across platforms and channels.
- Strong understanding of global payment systems, fraud detection, and security compliance (PCI, GDPR, etc.).
- Experience with A/B testing and data-driven decision-making to enhance user experience and optimize performance.
- Leadership experience in building and managing cross-functional teams, including engineering, product, design, and analytics.
- Technical understanding of eCommerce platforms, payment gateways, and APIs.
- Strong communication skills to articulate strategy, progress, and results to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Global mindset, with experience working across diverse geographies and localizing checkout processes where needed.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a customer-first mindset.
