As a Social Media Coordinator, you will be a part of a fast paced, growing social media team responsible for ideating, creating, and publishing social media content for the Detroit Pistons. The social team sits within the Brand Marketing department with visibility and collaboration across the entire organization.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead our community management efforts - engaging with followers by responding to comments, messages, and inquiries across all social media platforms
- Create, edit, and post content (videos, reels, photos) across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and other platforms.
- Represent the voice of the Detroit Pistons, consistently reflecting our brand’s tone in every social interaction.
- Ideate and complete social media campaigns related to the brand or sponsorships
- Provide real-time platform coverage during live games and events
- Curate social media content using storylines based on the teams, city/community, and players
- Assist with social metrics/reporting through native platforms and third-party platforms like Sprout Social
- Stay on top of trends and suggest creative ideas for engaging followers.
- Monitor performance analytics to identify what works and optimize future posts.
- Conduct ongoing competitive analysis of the social space
- Participate in social/content brainstorming sessions content planning for brand development
- Collaborating across teams to support organizational goals and initiatives.
- Potential to travel to various community events, road games, NBA events and more.
What We’re Looking For
- 1-3 years of experience in a social, content, and/or communications role is valued, including internship experience
- Proficiency editing in Adobe Premiere and Photoshop.
- Candidate should possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Candidate should have a sense of urgency and be a self-starter
- Passion for trends and discovering new technologies that can help grow our brands.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Sprout (or publishing platforms), Asana (or project management systems), and/or design products (e.g. Adobe, Slate) is valued
- Experience publishing content on social media platforms: Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube
- Must be capable of multi-tasking while still maintaining a high level of integrity and creativity
