We’re seeking a culture-obsessed VP Strategy Director with CPG brand strategy chops, leadership in social and digital marketing, and experience in reaching the Hispanic market to join our team. Reporting to the EVP Head of Brand Strategy, you’ll become part of a strong multi-disciplinary, social-first creative and business leadership group, responsible for shaping the strategic dialogue and presentations for leading brands. You are a strong relationship builder, narrative crafter, love to dive into cultural insights and balance it all with a strong CPG acumen. You are someone who understands the value that strong strategy brings to creativity, moving client business forward—and you are experienced in persuasively communicating your well researched point of view to everyone from the most junior to the C-suite.
What You’ll Do:
• Build strong relationships with clients and colleagues, as a trusted advisor and inspired
hand on the rudder to guide towards the most fertile opportunities for brand growth
• Translate opportunities and client briefs into strategic recommendations, using cultural
insights, research and creativity.
• Oversee other strategy team members to move strategic recommendations into
productive ecosystems.
• Lead the development of creatively fertile briefs that meet brand and business goals.
• Work closely with creative teams, evaluating and elevating creative solutions
• Present work, alongside our integrated team, with passion, empathy and conviction.
• Collaborate with client-side research and insight teams, formulating research plans that
helps to optimize the work.
• Manage and develop more junior strategists who will learn from your approach
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
• 8+ years of progressive strategic planning experience
• Proven track record of brand growth in Tier 1 CPG through an understanding of brands, people and culture
• Proven track record of a social-first mindset: ability to critically listen and incorporate
your learning into brand growth plans
• Excellent, persuasive narrative skills, both in crafting and delivery
• Familiarity and experience with various primary and secondary research techniques
(social listening, quantitative, qualitative)
• Comfortable connecting and presenting to clients from the junior to the C-suite level
• Experience in growing and mentoring more junior strategists
• Knowledge and passion for modern CPG brands: how they operate, how they succeed in
culture and business
• An understanding of the science of brand growth is an asset
• A belief and practice that empathy, optimism and drive are what grows relationships
and businesses.
• Agency experience preferred
This role is based out of our HQ in Southfield, Michigan, relocation is provided.
