The Social Media Lead position helps develop and execute the strategic vision of the Dooney & Bourke’s organic social presence, elevating brand storytelling and community engagement across all social platforms. Each day brings dynamic opportunities, from crafting compelling content strategies and managing creator relationships to analyzing performance metrics and coordinating with internal teams and external partners. This role shapes how the brand connects with customers in the digital space, building authentic conversations that reflect Dooney & Bourke’s heritage and craftsmanship.
Responsibilities include but not limited to
- Develop and execute comprehensive organic social media strategy aligned with brand objectives and marketing campaigns
- Create, curate, and manage content calendars across all social platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube)
- Partner with creative teams and external agencies to produce engaging social-first content that drives conversation and community growth
- Monitor social trends, platform updates, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities for brand differentiation
- Manage relationships with external social media agencies, ensuring deliverables align with brand standards and performance goals
- Coordinate with internal teams (marketing, merchandising, creative, customer service) to ensure cohesive brand messaging across touchpoints
- Oversee community management, responding to customer inquiries and fostering meaningful brand interactions
- Analyze social media performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations to optimize content strategy and engagement
- Develop social media guidelines and best practices for internal stakeholders and brand partners
- Support influencer and creator partnerships, coordinating content deliverables and relationship management
- Collaborate on product launches and promotional campaigns, ensuring social media amplification maximizes reach and engagement
- Monitor brand sentiment and social listening insights to inform marketing strategies and product development
- Track and report on social media content production budgets and vendor relationships
- Coordinate product seeding and gifting programs with influencers and brand advocates
- Stay current on social media innovations, platform features, and emerging channels relevant to luxury retail
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in social media management, preferably in fashion, luxury goods, or lifestyle brands
- Proven track record of growing organic social presence and engagement across multiple platforms
- Deep understanding of social media platforms, algorithms, and best practices for each channel
- Experience managing external agencies and creative partners to deliver on-brand content
- Strong visual aesthetic and understanding of luxury brand positioning
- Expertise in social media analytics tools and ability to translate data into actionable insights
- Experience with social media management platforms (Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Later, etc.)
- Understanding of content production workflows and creative brief development
- Excellent writing skills with ability to adapt brand voice across different platforms and audiences
- Experience with community management and customer engagement strategies
- Knowledge of influencer marketing landscape and creator economy trends
- Strong project management skills with ability to juggle multiple campaigns and deadlines
- Understanding of social commerce features and integration with e-commerce platforms
- Photography/video editing skills and familiarity with creative tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) a plus
- Bachelor's degree preferred in marketing, communications, journalism, or related field, but not required.
