Role: Director of Marketing
The Director of Marketing is a data-driven, results-oriented leader who is responsible for increasing awareness and engagement among donors, volunteers, and beneficiaries, as well as overseeing the strategy, implementation and management of CRI marketing, public relations and communication programs.
Responsibilities:
- Providing leadership, strategic vision and direction to a small team of marketing and communication professionals while also being a key hands-on contributor
- Overseeing the planning, development and implementation of all marketing and communications, including social media, print and digital content, website, email marketing, public relations, newsletters, collateral and advertising
- Increasing awareness by highlighting CRI’s mission and impact
- Bringing attention to important issues through extensive research and targeted campaigns
- Developing and overseeing all media relations
- Building strong partnerships using various platforms and strategies to ensure engagement with supporters, volunteers, and beneficiaries
- Driving donations and funding by creating persuasive messages that appeal to potential donors and stakeholders
- Building and maintaining a consistent brand identity
- Measuring, tracking and analyzing marketing results to inform effective decision-making
- Tracking the success of campaigns and strategies by evaluating data and listening to feedback and adjusting strategies to optimize every fundraising effort
- Oversee the Marketing Department budget
- Maintaining strong relationships with key internal and external partners
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree/MBA preferred.
- 8+ years of experience managing marketing and communications to advance organizational goals, with nonprofit experience preferred.
- Proven expertise in designing and executing marketing and communications strategies, including email, print, digital/social media, website management, and public relations.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and public speaking skills, with strong listening and collaboration abilities to work effectively across diverse stakeholders.
- Proficient in using analytics and performance metrics to evaluate campaigns, optimize strategies, and demonstrate ROI to stakeholders.
- Strong budgeting and cost-management skills, with experience working with media outlets.
- Creative problem-solving, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to work independently and responsibly while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
