Canopy is seeking a Brand Marketing Manager to join our growing team. The Brand Marketing Manager will will collaborate with the marketing team to develop & drive effective 360 marketing programs for all new product launches, existing core products, and seasonal campaigns. The successful candidate will be a steward for the Canopy brand, constantly brainstorming campaign ideas that will help Canopy to break through. This role will lead the execution of launch plans, implementation of strategic marketing initiatives, & creation of marketing assets & content. The role requires a strong understanding of the target consumer and passion for the beauty/wellness space, as well as strong copywriting and brief development skills. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, agile, and should possess both analytical and creative skills with the ability to work independently and cross-functionally within the organization.
About the Role:
- Drives the ideation and execution of 360° plans for marketing campaigns by working cross-functionally with teams including Creative, Product, Web, Email, Paid, Social, Influencer, etc.
- Writing campaign and seasonal theme briefs, working with channel owners and using trends/data to find unconventional and compelling opportunities to bring a campaign to life.
- The campaign briefs must serve as the bible for all teams to understand market trends, consumer insights, campaign/product goals, key features and messaging points, and supportive data.
- Create hype-worthy brand moments and campaigns that are culturally relevant and will drive high engagement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to own the marketing calendar and ensure consistent brand messaging and tone of voice across all touchpoints.
- Work with the Product team to collaborate on new product ideas and gain a deep understanding of products during the development phase. Bring the perspective of the customer into the development process by giving feedback and providing insights.
- Collaborate with Product team on brand-focused elements of the product such as color, packaging look and feel, etc.
- Translate key features into consumer facing messaging and claims that will be relevant and compelling for the target consumer.
- Use a deep understanding of both the customer's needs/concerns and the product benefits to develop claims and messaging around benefits (skin, hair, family wellness, etc).
- Own the development of clear & thoughtful creative briefs for content & design team to create best-in-class assets. Partner with channel owners to brief and develop assets & collateral for web, packaging, influencer, social, retail and other channels.
- Serve as the messaging and copy hub for Canopy. Write copy for a variety of types of assets ranging from headlines and taglines to more detailed copy needs.
- Support CMO on strategy, ideation and execution of brand partnerships and PR activities.
About You:
- You have 3-5 years of experience in brand marketing or product marketing, preferably within the beauty/wellness space. Passion for beauty and wellness products required.
- You are an excellent copywriter with the ability to distill both large concepts and detailed messages into clear, concise, effective copy.
- You have experience writing marketing and creative briefs, with an understanding of how to publish a document that serves as the bible for a marketing team to execute the campaign. For creative assets, you have the ability to work with content creators and designers, providing briefs that allow for highly effective and efficient asset development.
- Your background might also include social media, partnerships, PR, creative, etc. But you have a natural knack for generating creative marketing ideas and translating the concepts into communication plans.
