Job Summary
Marriott International is entering a new chapter of growth and evolution. With over 30+ brands and 220M+ members, Marriott Bonvoy leads the hospitality industry with the largest portfolio of brands and the largest global member base in the world. We are seeking an experienced, strategic, visionary, SVP Global Marketing to elevate our global marketing strategy targeting 1.3B travelers and over $6.2T of travel spend globally. This leader will be responsible for leading global marketing and ~$1B+ investment strategy for Marriott Bonvoy, our portfolio of brands, and our industry-leading loyalty platform.
This role is a key strategic position within the Customer Group, leading the team responsible for global marketing strategy and planning, the creative platform for Marriott Bonvoy and our brands, global content and messaging, lifecycle and partner marketing, in-house and external agency management, and global media. The SVP Global Marketing will set the creative, content and messaging strategy, aligned with our business KPIs, and in collaboration with Continent Marketing Teams who own marketing execution in their markets. This role will be focused on bringing creativity and innovation to our marketing strategies to build awareness and consideration for the Marriott Bonvoy brand and portfolio of products, growing the global member base and driving demand to over 9000+ hotels and destinations globally.
The SVP Global Marketing will work closely with the Marketing Orchestration and Personalization team and Digital, to evolve our marketing platform capabilities and execute marketing programs across our owned and paid channels. Close collaboration with the Lodging Products teams and continents are essential to ensure seamless execution and delivery of business objectives.
Additionally, this role will drive marketing transformation and guide the development of high-performing teams that successfully execute creative, impactful and measurable strategies. This visionary leadership will be instrumental in shaping the future of Marriott’s global marketing, driving innovation, and ensuring Marriott Bonvoy and our brands remain the leader in the hospitality industry.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Required
Education and Experience
4-year degree from an accredited university in Marketing, Business Administration, or related major.
16+ years of relevant professional experience in Consumer or Brand Marketing or 18+ years in a related function, demonstrating progressive career growth and patterns of exceptional performance.
Experience overseeing the development and execution of a creative platform, including strategy, content, and messaging.
Experience in leading global marketing teams and/or managing brand portfolios, with a proven track record of driving growth.
Experience with the development and evolution of martech and/or global customer platforms.
Proficiency in utilizing marketing analytics and reporting tools to measure campaign effectiveness and inform strategic decisions.
Preferred
Financial Management: Experience managing marketing budgets, ensuring effective use of resources while achieving objectives.
Process Experience: Expertise in the design and development of processes to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Change Management: Demonstrated ability to inspire teams and effective execute change within large, matrixed organizations.

Marketing Strategy & Measurement
Develop global marketing strategy and implement visionary, data-driven marketing strategies in partnership with continent marketing teams that align with enterprise goals.
Leverage advanced analytics and insights to measure and optimize marketing performance.
Continuously innovate and refine marketing measurement tools, processes, and strategies based on evolving business priorities.
Creative Platform, Content, and Messaging
Lead the creation and execution of breakthrough creative content and platforms, including social media and messaging, ensuring brand consistency and engagement.
Direct the in-house creative agency team and oversee the selection and management of external creative agencies.
Steer the global messaging strategy for Marriott Bonvoy, portfolio, and brands, while enabling flexibility for localization.
Purpose-Driven Marketing
Champion impactful and measurable initiatives that align with Marriott’s commitment to social responsibility and purpose-driven marketing.
Lifecycle and Partner Marketing
Strategize and oversee the design and implementation of comprehensive lifecycle marketing campaigns that enhance customer engagement and drive retention.
Forge and nurture strategic partnerships across teams and disciplines to develop and execute successful co-branded marketing initiatives.
Creative Agency Management
Collaborate closely with agency partners to align on strategic objectives, creative direction, and campaign execution.
Regularly evaluate agency performance, providing feedback and guidance to ensure continuous improvement and excellence.
Collaboration
Act as a global facilitator and connector for the Marketing discipline, leveraging Marriott International’s scale to drive success.
Drive organizational alignment and shared accountability for successful outcomes with stakeholders across disciplines (e.g., Loyalty, Partnerships, Marketing Orchestration and Personalization, Technology & Digital, Revenue Management, Distribution, etc.).
The salary range for this position is $337,535 to $456,665 annually.
