We’re looking for the next Director of Brand and Customer Marketing for a successful, growing B2G software company in the DC area. Reporting to the Chief Strategy Officer, you’ll be responsible for driving strategies that connect the company with new targets, increase account activity and upsells, and broaden the reach of the firm into public sector audiences and the media. The best candidates for this role bring B2G marketing experience, possess an entrepreneurial spirit, and identify as a hands-on strategist. With a laser focus on generating business, you’ll employ tactics from digital to print to in-person.
Location: fully remote on East Coast time (no exceptions). Priority will be given to candidates that currently live in the Washington DC/Metro area. Occasional travel is required.
What You’ll Do
- Identify creative and innovative ways to stand out in a crowded marketplace, earning attention, trust, and business from public sector audiences.
- Develop, resource, and launch a customer marketing strategy which will lead to a new, highly valuable lead channel for the company.
- Employ tactics like thought leadership, events, and digital tools – developing appropriate KPIs and analytics/reporting to demonstrate ROI.
- Partner with internal groups to create use cases and customer success stories that validate the platform’s message.
- Create sophisticated demand generation campaigns to draw high-impact, high-value leads.
- Lead SEO and CRO efforts to capture more audience share, drive more website traffic, and improve conversions.
- Evaluate potential media partners, programs, or external campaigns.
- Partner with channel team to develop co-branded go-to-market strategies with top-tier partners to drive awareness and interest in joint offerings.
The Quals You’ll Need
- 8 to 12 years of experience in marketing (digital, branding, sales enablement, SEO, paid media, demand gen, etc.), with specific experience and success in public sector marketing.
- Experience creating and executing programs that increase brand awareness, drive engagement, and generate leads.
- Ability to build rapport with internal stakeholders, build bridges between marketing and sales and other interest groups.
- Ability to be a diplomatic and poised speaker, capable of collaborating with senior executives and officials in government, military, media, and partner organizations.
- Must be a creative problem solver who can think strategically and act tactically.
- Skillful communicator with super relationship-building and negotiation style.
- Highly competent in project management, budgeting, and communication.
- Experience and a strong understanding of marketing data and analytics to demonstrate ROI and inform future strategies.
- Experience with tools such as Canva, Google Analytics, and HubSpot is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree.
