Regional Vice President, Comm & Industrial

Summary: Develops new Commercial Lending and Banking business by offering a wide variety of products and services, including lines, loans, checking, savings, and cash management. Crucial to the success of the role, the RVP candidate must have the ability to attract, expand and retain - strong credit-quality customers. Working to build a new commercial lending team for Columbia Bank.

Job Responsibilities

• Develops business for the Bank's Commercial Lending Department. Solicits business through various sources and accompanies Branch Managers and Loan Officers on business calls relating to Commercial lending. Interacts with customers to enhance business relationships and cross sell products and services.
• Monitors current commercial loans for performance. Makes recommendations for collection when necessary. Interacts with customers alongside the portfolio managers and credit officers to re-work loans.
• Exercises the usual authority of a manager concerning staffing, training, performance evaluation, discipline and salary recommendations. Demonstrates a commitment and responsibility to Equal Opportunity Employment and Affirmative Action.
• Maintains a current knowledge of all regulations governing commercial lending as well as any political climates or trends that may affect the Commercial Lending administration.
• Performs other job related duties as may be assigned.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business related field.
• Minimum of 15 years experience as a Commercial Lender or Team Leader.
• Formal credit training required.
• Local business experience specifically Northern NJ with potential market expansion.
• Strong Commercial & Industrial expertise.
• Must have the ability to develop and retain C&I loan business.
• Must be able to produce assigned loan volume as set annually.
• Must ensure and maintain asset quality of loan portfolio.
• Excellent decision making and problem solving abilities.
• Thorough knowledge of lending regulations required.
• Understanding of commercial deposit products and services required.
• Ability to partner with Cash Management department for service-efficiency expansion.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to deal effectively with customers, attorneys, realtors and other financial institutions as well as all levels of Bank personnel.
• History of community involvement through volunteerism and/or representation with charitable organizations.
• Excellent organizational, follow-up and time management skills.
