Development & Social Media Specialist

LOCATION: In-person, Eugene, OR

SCHEDULE STATUS: 15-20 hours per week, Monday thru Friday, some evening or weekend hours

COMPENSATION: $20 per hour

REPORTS TO: Executive Director

ABOUT US

Since 2013, Positive Community Kitchen (PCK) has provided nourishing meals to community members experiencing illness. These healthy meals are curated by teen chefs and volunteers through the education program in our teaching kitchen, supervised by Kitchen Managers and Program Coordinators. Meals are delivered free of charge to clients throughout the metro area.

POSITION SUMMARY

Development at PCK is about understanding people and building awareness of how we help our community members in need. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing and executing fundraising campaigns, managing day-to-day development activities and maximizing social media.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establish positioning, identify target audiences and develop development plans with specific objectives across different channels and segments
  • Lead the execution of programs from start to finish, leveraging internal support and driving collaboration
  • Analyze donor insights, trends, market analysis and fundraising best practices to build successful strategies
  • Create, maintain and conduct analytics reporting across multiple platforms and extract key insights for future campaign development and go-to-market strategies, complete with formal proposals and recommendations on tactics
  • Help develop creative briefs and guide creative direction to meet objectives for all public-facing communications, including print, digital and video assets
  • Conceptualize and execute on multichannel campaigns, ensuring the alignment of communications and messaging in all channels
  • Manage content and updates, establish budget guidelines, participate in events and document processes
  • Gather donor and nonprofit insights to inform outreach strategies, increase donor conversions and generate more qualified leads
  • Identify effectiveness and impact of current marketing initiatives with tracking and analysis, and

optimize accordingly

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven success in developing marketing plans and campaigns
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong project management, multitasking and decision-making skills
  • Metrics-driven development mind with eye for creativity
  • Experience with automation and CRM tools
  • Proficiency with online fundraising and social media strategy
  • Oregon Food Handler’s Card.
  • Successfully pass a background check.
  • Comfortable with technology and familiar with MS Office.
  • Ability to demonstrate cultural competence in working with diverse populations.
  • Possesses an upbeat, positive attitude, brings an empowering team spirit, a high degree of self-motivation and initiative and demonstrates integrity in the role.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to work at a workstation for an extended period of time; use computer equipment; talk and listen to communicate with staff, volunteers and clients.
  • Moderate lifting of up to 50 pounds, bending, stooping and setting up booth(s).
  • The work environment while in the office consists of moderate noise (i.e., nonprofit setting with office equipment, conversation from adjacent coworkers).
